Welcome by Chairman
The Chairman welcomed those present to the meeting.
Declaration of Interest
There were no declared interests noted from Parish Councillors.
Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes of the previous meeting were briefly discussed.
Matters Arising
The situation of the septic tank and outfall at Park
Road is still ongoing.
Correspondence
The Clerk had early on in the day had collected seven
nomination packs from the Town Hall at Macclesfield which
were distributed to Parish Councillors present.
The advertisement of the election is to be placed on
the Parish Council Notice Board, in the Parish Magazine
and on the website.
Nomination papers are to be returned directly to Macclesfield
Town Hall by 12 noon on 4th April 2008.
Planning Applications
Planning Application number 07/3065P - single storey
rear extension to Acre Hill Barn, Pexall Road, North Rode,
Congleton, CW12 2NW
Permission granted with conditions.
The Clerk had received two Planning Applications which
were: -
Planning Application number 08/0192P - change of use
of barn to office - Bramhall Hill Farm, Bank Lane, North
Rode, CW12 2PJ.
Members of the Parish Council inspected the plans and
noted that the corrugated asbestos cement roof covering
is to be replaced with slate, which would be an improvement
and found no objections to the Application.
Planning Application number 08/0194P - replacement warehouse
- Bramhall Hill Farm, Bank Lane, North Rode, CE12 2PJ.
The present warehouse was originally a dry-cow shed that
received change of use permission some years ago. The
proposal is to demolish and rebuild on the same site but
providing a slightly larger building.
The Parish Councillors found no objections to the proposals.
Finances
The Clerk had prepared a draft statement of account for
the year end March 2008.
The account showed a healthier balance than previous
years but it was noted that no large expenditure had been
undertaken.
Payment for the Clerks salary £420, postage and
sundries £53 and the hire of the Village Hall £50
was proposed by John Narraway and seconded by Andrew Needham1.
The fingerpost signs at Cocksmoss Lane and Macclesfield
Canal have been painted by Macclesfield Borough Council.
A further quote was sourced for the painting of the cyclist
warning sign at the top of Church Lane. The quote received
was in the sum of £180.
A quote had also been received from Andrew Syson in the
sum of £90.
The meeting discussed the requirement of the Risk Assessment,
Schedule of Works and a request to Macclesfield Borough
Council for a part contribution.
It was proposed by Andrew Needham and seconded by John
Narraway that instructions be given to Mr Andrew Syson
to proceed2. The Clerk to prepare Risk Assessment and
Schedule of Works.
Any Other Business
The Chairman brought up the fact that the road verges
in the Parish were becoming soiled and appropriate action
should be taken to clean and remove the spill on the road.
The Clerk to make contact with Highways Department requesting
a road sweeper for the village lanes.

Parish Plans
Mr John Narraway had confirmed that the Parish Plan meeting
chaired by the Parish Council and open to the public is
to be held in the Daintry Village Hall on 29th May 2008.
The Chairman is to send a letter to each household informing
them of the meeting and offering an open invitation to
attend. This letter is also to be sent via email.
Next Meeting
The Chairman thanked all those present.
It was agreed that the next meeting of the North Rode
Parish Council is to be held as and when further planning
applications received required discussing.
This meeting of the Parish Council closed at 20.30 hours.
